Human 21′

The choreographer Sandra Macià was selected by the organization of the Burgos-New York Choreography Competition to participate in the contest ‘Danza en el Camino’ with ‘Human 21’, a piece created expressly for this event and which won numerous awards.
The choreographic contest ‘Danza en el Camino’ seeks to promote the art of choreography and, therefore, the creative values that emerge in the world scene of dance in the XXI century and taking as an inspirational model the Jacobean Route as it passes through the community of Castilla y León.
A space where architecture and dance, past and present, culture, tourism and art merge.
SYNOPSIS
The piece ‘Human 21’ reflects on the current situation of emotional bewilderment in which we live in the face of the effects of the ‘pandemic disconnection’. Its performers start from a bad feeling, enter into the emotional-rational dispute in the face of uncertainty and end up giving themselves the opportunity to reinvent themselves and move forward from creative resistance. However, the ‘Human 21’ virus will prevail…
The work has music composed and produced by the composer Daniel Salvador de Madariaga Charro and the sound artist Iván Deu Álvarez ‘Genzo P.’ expressly for this piece. Since it reflects on the current situation of emotional bewilderment, it is inspired by the creative union of a conventional musician with a sound artist using the usual instrumental, harmonic and melodic tools of a musical composition in conjunction with those developed by a research concept of sound experimentation.
